From 27 January 2025, Starbucks is rolling out a series of initiatives to revitalise its coffeehouse culture, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and customer convenience.

The coffee chain is re-introducing ceramic mugs and glasses for in-store orders, in a significant shift towards reducing waste and encouraging patrons to enjoy their beverages on-site, as reported by NewsX.

The return of ceramic drinkware at Starbucks signifies the brand's commitment to an eco-friendlier approach, as customers will now have the option to choose its "for here" service.

It is part of a broader strategy to foster a more inviting atmosphere within Starbucks cafes.

Patrons can also bring in reusable cups, further aligning with the company's sustainability objectives.

Unlimited refills on select hot and iced beverages will be another step towards enhancing the in-house experience for customers and making them stay longer to enjoy the ambience.

The refill policy also supports environmental goals by requiring refills to be served in either reusable or for-here drinkware, excluding plastic to-go cups.

Starbucks is also reinstating its condiment bar, enabling guests to customise their drinks with creamers, milks and sweeteners, reducing packaging waste.

Addressing community feedback, Starbucks has introduced a Code of Conduct aimed at maintaining a clean and safe environment for all customers .

The policy includes measures such as prohibiting loitering by non-customers and banning smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption and harassment.

These guidelines are designed to ensure that Starbucks locations remain welcoming spaces conducive to relaxation and social interaction.
