Starbucks ( NASDAQ:SBUX ) has added two former Taco Bell executives to its leadership team as part of an ongoing revamp under CEO Brian Niccol.
Meredith Sandland will serve as chief store development officer, bringing experience from her time as Taco Bell's chief development officer. Mike Grams, a 30-year Taco Bell veteran and former global chief operating officer, will take on the role of North America chief stores officer at Starbucks.
Niccol, who previously led Taco Bell and Chipotle ( NYSE:CMG ), has been restructuring Starbucks since becoming CEO last September. His Back to Starbucks plan includes cutting service times, enhancing store ambiance, and simplifying the menu.
Starbucks is set to report Q4 2024 earnings later today, with analysts expecting another tough quarter, particularly due to slowing sales and overseas expansion challenges.
The stock has gained 9% over the past 12 months as Niccol pushes ahead with his transformation efforts.
