United Airlines ( UAL ) reported fourth quarter results that topped Wall Street estimates on both the top and bottom lines, sending shares higher in after-hours trading. United reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.26 per share, well above the Bloomberg consensus estimate of $3.05. Operating revenue of $14.70 billion was higher than the expected $14.35 billion.
For the first quarter, United expects adjusted earnings of $0.75 to $1.25 per share compared to an expected $0.56.
